New behavior linked to the job market is being discussed in several companies. Find out everything about Quiet Quitting here! Covid-19 has deeply shaken countries around the world. Not only with the high risk of mortality from the disease, but with changes in the way of life that brought several transformations, especially in relation to work. The need for social isolation made most companies hastily adapt to home office and remote work. From then on, the barrier between personal life and professional life ceased to exist or, at least, became very tenuous. On the one hand, the fear of losing one's job and, on the other hand, the difficulty companies have in monitoring employees' daily work at home, led to a significant increase in tasks and consequently the extension of working hours. And since work started to occupy the same space as home, there would be no reason not to respond to that email or answer a call. This situation in which productivity at work is the main thing has led to several people being diagnosed with burnout and developing other psychological problems linked to work.

As a result, many workers began to think more about their mental health and desire other achievements beyond work. This phenomenon is occurring mainly among people from Generation Z and Millennials. It was in this context that the term quiet quitting emerged on the internet and gained major proportions in the world of work. Quiet quitting, the new market trend The term, which can be translated as “silent dismissal”, first appeared in a video News US posted by Zaid Khan on his social networks, which then quickly spread across the internet, becoming a topic around the world. Despite what it may seem, this behavior is not a simple desire to be fired or unhappiness at work. On the contrary, Zaid, who is an engineer and is only 24 years old, explains that it is just about imposing limits between work and personal life. In his analysis, work cannot be the most important part of life, taking up all of people's time and disposition. Therefore, the concept proposes that only normal tasks be carried out, the most essential of the job, respecting what was defined in the contract.

With this proposal, Zaid seeks to question the traditional view that work should be the greatest achievement in a person's life. Show that moments with family, friends, any hobby, are also fundamental to human happiness. After the video became popular, some research began to be carried out to find out working conditions and mental health in companies. In the USA, it was found that 53% of workers feel exhausted, with overtime representing 44% of the reasons given. Layoffs and career changeyoung girl with her hands on her face and eyes closed in a stressed expression in front of her notebook The fundamentals of quiet quitting are already being felt in many places. Young people and adults between 20 and 40 years old are resigning from their jobs, generating a very significant wave of dismissals. This decision is supported by the desire to seek a job that offers better working conditions, especially that allow for more balance between the profession and other areas of life.
